Once upon a time, before downtown died, there were fun events. One short lived event were bed races. This was a competitive regional event that doubled as a fundraiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association. They started in teh mid 70s and lasted until the early 80s. Someday, when downtown comes back to life, I hope beds get raced.

We could use more like him - one of his things was to lead the race by doing flips for a full city block. Crazy.
